Valentine Banner

Well Valentines Day is right around the corner and I needed to put something festive up since all but one Christmas decoration has been put away. The house looks so barren with all of that stuff put away until after next Thanksgiving.

 I was going to make a banner with heart shapes, but I decided on using this one sheet of paper that had some of the cutest little pictures. The paper was 12x12 and was divided into 24 rectangular pictures, they almost looked like they were meant to be cards. At first I thought I would make a matching game, I got that idea from my friend Meagan she has a shop on facebook called the The Girl Next Door, but not all of the pictures were duplicated.

 I cut out all of the pictures and matted them with a pinkish/lavender card stock, and tied them off with some pink and white bakers twine. I have been dying to use the bakers twine for a project. They came out cute, they look a little small over my back door, they may look better in a smaller room.

Ticket to Disney World

I have been on the down low lately, not allot of baking or allot of new crafting.  My oldest son Daniel made his first holy communion and we had a big party, tent and all in the yard.  The preparing consumed allot of my time.

Now I am getting back in the swing of things, so when a friend asked me to put some of my craftiness to work I jumped in with both feet.  She had planned a trip to Disney World and wanted her kids to get a "ticket" from the bank teller when they cashed in their change jar for Disney World.  I thought what a cute idea, but I hadn't made one before and wanted to make sure it looked special.  I wanted it flashy enough that the kids would be excited to get it, but not overdone to where it had allot of embellishments.

I had thought about making an individual ticket for each member of their family, but she wanted to include the dates of travel and the cost: One Jar of Coins.  I had to make it big enough so that the information included was actually readable.

I used a circle border punch, and trimmed it down to give it the look of a tear off ticket.  I downloaded a free Disney font off the Internet, there were plenty out there.  Then I used my Cricut and Cuttlebug to make some die cuts.

I was real pleased with how it turned out... what do you think?

Disney Autograph Albums

I have been making Disney autograph albums for sometime now.  It started with albums for my boys, then friend's children, then a little etsy shop.  The photos above are the original albums I created.  I have had people inquire about Minnie albums so I made some "prototypes", and just in general I wanted to come up with some new creations.

Here they are.

These are more Minnie's dress album, I am going to be working on one with Minnie's head with her bow.

There is a Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Mickey glove page.

In between the character pages, each page is accented with a Mickey head cutout.

So far the Minnie and Mickey albums can be found in my shop at etsy.com.

Explosion Box

Well I hosted another Get Your Craft On night with some ladies from the "mom's group" aka MSB.  I have been shooting for a project every other month, and I am always on the search for the next great thing.  Once I see a craft that I want to copy, I hope it has directions, often it doesn't.  When it doesn't have directions I turn to google and youtube to find directions.  I am still in awe of all the crafty women out there who are putting directions in video, what did we do before the internet?  Had to figure things out for ourselves?

Okay, back to the project.  I had seen the explosion box on Kerry's Paper Craft's Blog, she is great with all of her directions.  She even goes so far as to provide links for where she buys her supplies.  This project she didn't have directions because her box was made out of what looks like chipboard.  So I found directions on youtube, for one strictly made out of cardstock.

I was actually surprised at the ease of this project and how cute is actually turned out.  I haven't added photos to my box yet because I made it with "girly" paper and may give it as a gift.

A big hit that night was the butterfly punch Heidi bought with her, it was from Martha Stewart Crafts.  Traci doubled the butterflies to give them a 3D effect and I loved it so much I put one on the inside of the cover.

Disney Autograph Books

If you know me you know I LOVE DISNEY! We usually plan a family trip once a year to Walt Disney World, and I make each of the boys their own albums to get character signatures. They are easy to do.



I use the Cricut Disney Font cartridge and cut the Mickey heads at 4 inches. The cover is about four layers of cardstock glued together, as you can see I personalize each book for the boys with their first initial. On average I have the book about 20 pages, you could get 20-40 autographs in a book if you use both sides. The stitching on the books is just a white gel pen.



You can then take the pages out and incorporate them into your scrapbooking layouts.

Creative Cuts Crop

This whole crop thing began during a lunch at Applebees with Donna. What was just an idea quickly became reality. The first one was on National Scrapbooking Day back in May, and we just had our second one yesterday. Yesterday we just about doubled in size from the first one where we had 12 attendees, this time we had 22 woman who love to craft all in one room. Good friends and lots of laugh filled the room. I had good intentions of taking photos to share, but between doing my own scrappin', laughing and making sure there was plenty of food and drink the camera sadly never left my purse.






I want to thank the vendors who came out and supported our crop, Koren from RJ Creations, Laurie from Stampin' Up, and I had some Close To My Heart. They shared ideas and had supplies on hand for anyone who may have forgotten something at home. The make & take's they did were really cool too. Koren did a project using flocking, and Laurie stamped up a cute thank you card.

How cute are these?

This past Saturday I attended a fundraiser crop at the Goshen firehouse. Fun time for a great cause. Usually during the crop some of the vendors will have a "Make & Take" to show off some of their products. The Stampin' Up vendor had a great Make & Take that I had to do because it was so cute. It is a gift card holder made out of a regular envelope. I thought it was such a great project that I immediately decided to share the idea with the mom's group during a "Get Your Craft On" night.
